Design prototype
Design prototypes are used to evaluate aesthetic and ergonomic features. They enable detailed design studies to examine spatial, realistic, tactile, and aesthetic representations. They also serve as presentation objects for decision-making or acceptance clarification with customers.
Concept prototype
A concept prototype is often executed in a very rudimentary manner and is one of the most cost-effective options. It serves to illustrate a specific concept or test an idea.
Functional prototype
The functional prototype fulfills important functional properties of a future production component. It allows the testing of mechanical, electrical, thermal, and acoustic functions of individual components and enables initial experiments or even durability tests.
Geometry prototype
Geometry prototypes are precision models for initial assembly and usage tests. The focus is on verifying shape and dimensional accuracy as well as controlling tolerances. Material-specific properties are less significant in this case.
